Saturday, September 4, 2021, continues the 20th annual Cops Cycling for Survivors bicycle ride to honor Indianaā s fallen law enforcement heroes.

This year's ride, while in memory of all fallen heroes, especially honors Indiana's 2020 line of duty deaths Officer Kenneth Lester, Richmond Police Department, Officer Breann Leath, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, and Detective Sergeant Tea Juan Johnson, Charlestown Police Department along with 2019 line of duty deaths Chief David Hewitt, Rising Sun Police Department, and Trooper Peter Stephan, Indiana State Police.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, a one-day ride at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy was conducted with great success. This year on September 4, Cops Cycling for Survivors will again host a public bike ride on the Emergency Vehicle Operations track at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Plainfield from 8:00AM to 5:00PM.

The general public is invited to attend and to bike with the group any time between 8:00AM and 5:00PM on September 4. The event is open to riders of all ages and abilities. Riders may ride at their own speed, for as long as they desire, taking breaks as needed as they come and go during the day. Throughout the day, the Officer Down Memorial Pages for more than 450 fallen Indiana law enforcement officers will be read to carry on the memory of their sacrifices.

Survivors of Indianaā s fallen heroes will be in attendance and all survivors are encouraged to attend. Advance registration may be made at or cyclists may register on September 4 at the Law Enforcement Academy. Registration is $20 per individual rider or $40 for family of two (2) or more and each registration includes a Cops Cycling for Survivors license plate while supplies last. Additional merchandise will be for sale on the day of the ride. Food trucks will be available on-site and hydration and snacks will be supplied.
