Not near Indiana, but a cool ride in a fantastic area to bicycle

The Vermont Gran Fondo is a non-competitive ride through Vermont's Green Mountains. This ride will test your fitness with its challenging climbs. There are amazing views at the top each gap—savor them for a moment before you speed downhill.

Venue location for 2021, Bristol, Vermont. The local Recreation Park has ample space for our venue tent, after party food vendors, and no shortage of parking at the adjoining High School. We are very excited about the move and the possibilities it brings. Below is a cool video shot by one of our local video artists.
nt Gran Fondo (VTGF) was born from a popular bucket list epic local gap ride known by the locals as, the LAMB ride. LAMB comes from the names of 4 gaps (Lincoln Gap, Applachian Gap, Middlebury Gap, and Brandon Gap) which when combined into a single ride, can easily top 100 miles and over 10,000 feet of climbing, not a bad effort for one day. In 2013, a band of local cyclists looking to create a new event for Vermont wanted something more challenging to compliment the numerous valley ride events already taking place and the LAMB was a perfect fit, hence the Vermont Gran Fondo was born.

What the VTGF offers is an opportunity to come and enjoy a challenging ride in the beautiful Green Mountians of Vermont with guidence, support, and an after party!

The Vermont Gran Fondo is produced by Ride It If You Can Llc. The organizing committee is made up of cycling enthusiasts and athletically-inclined tourism and business development representatives. Event proceeds will be distributed via grants to municipalities and non-profit organizations with the purpose of enhancing bicycling in Addison County through programs, education, infrastructure and/or equipment.
The Gaps of the Vermont Gran Fondo

There are two well-known gap rides through the central Vermont region, the '6-Gap Ride' and the '4-Gap Ride'  aka the 'LAMB'; Lincoln Gap, Appalachain Gap, Middlebury Gap, and Brandon Gap. The 6-Gap ride includes all the LAMB climbs but, for the ultimate Green Mountain Challenge, two more climbs, typically Roxbury Gap and Rochester Gap (aka – Bethel Gap), added to the mix will surely give you a good night’s sleep. The four climbs each year will pass over a selection from this list. Keep a close watch for the final course announcements, typically in April.
