Lakeshore Harvest Ride

It's a Harvest for your senses. Welcome to the one Michigan bike tour that lets you see, touch, smell and taste the riches of this breathtaking region. The Lakeshore Harvest Ride glides you through the rolling countryside of Southwest Michigan. You can visit wineries, cider mills, microbreweries, family farms, orchards and art studios along the way. And there are individual bike routes for every rider, ranging from 15 to 62 miles in length.

The Blue Star Trail will be a 20-mile paved, non-motorized, shared use recreational trail that connects people and communities from Saugatuck to South Haven, Michigan. The Trail will improve safety, wellness, economic health, and our environment.

Friends of the Blue Star Trail is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promote and fund construction of the Trail, in partnership with our local communities. Friends raises money for engineering, local match funding required for state/federal matching construction grants, and ongoing maintenance. The municipalities along the route apply for state/federal matching grants and will own the sections of the Trail within their borders.

Come for the Ride and stay for the weekend. This is the best time for a Michigan bike tour. September graces Southwest Michigan with dryer, cooler weather. The summer crowds have ebbed, but our harbor towns of Saugatuck/Douglas and South Haven are still bustling with cultural events and outdoor adventures. There is so much to experience and so many reasons to stay. Shop art galleries and specialty gift shops, delight in the culinary diversity, visit pristine white sand beaches, kayak scenic waterways and hike grassy dunes. The choices are endless. For a getaway that's rich in both recreation and relaxation, explore Saugatuck/Douglas and South Haven to discover your ultimate weekend escape.
