This is the eleventh anniversary of 'The Dog' and we hope to offer our guests the best ever experience on an organized event like this. We have modified some routes, changed some menus, and added a nifty new rest stop.. Sponsored by Silver Wheels Cycling Club, Inc., this website hopefully gives you all the information you need to choose the route best for you. Use the links below to check out all of our information.
If you have ridden with us before you know we offer numerous stops to take care of your hydration, energy and rest needs. We like to spoil our guests.
The number of stops you get to depends on which route you select. The longer your route, the more stops along the way. The shortest route - 37 miles - will have thee stops, including one winery. The 45-mile route goes to two wineries and has four stops. The 65-mile route goes to the same four stops and two wineries. The century riders - 100-miles - pick up an additional winery with five stops. and our Double Dog Dare - 125-mile double metric century riders get three wineries , a ciderhouse and a total of seven stops.
Each rest stop is well-stocked with energy foods and liquids to keep you on your way. We try to vary our offerings a little so you don't get bored with the same old stuff at each stop. Water and Gatorade will be the main hydration beverages offered.
The wineries and the cidery of course offer wine to sample. Be prudent in your sampling - everyone responds to alcohol differently. If you do sample wine, be sure to eat plenty of food along with it, to help balance your intake.
