This is the 3rd year for this ride that supports Camp Lions for the vision and hearing impaired.
Camp Lions is a summer camping opportunity for ages 7 to17 for individuals with a vision impairment of 20/200 after correction and/or a hearing impairment which requires the daily usage of communication alternatives such as sigh language or lip reading. Camp Lions promotes self-confidence through positive peer interaction & independent skill development. Campers must be independently ambulatory around the camp.
Routes will be on paved or oil and chip roads through scenic east central Illinois flatlands with a few hills and turns. The ride may cross the proposed Champaign-Urbana to Danville Rail-Trail. Sag wagons are available for emergencies only. Please carry your own spare tube, pump & a few basic tools for minor repairs. Charge your cell phone and bring it with you for emergencies.
Free T-shirt to first 100 riders. Donuts and coffee before the ride. There will be a meal at the end of the ride for all registered riders. The meal will be available from 11:00 to 2:00.
