RAIN is an annual ride across the State of Indiana sponsored by the Bloomington Bicycle Club. Its 160-mile length runs mostly on the Historic National Route 40, an older divided four-lane road with light traffic. It has gentle rolling hills. You should be able to average at least 12 to 14 mph for over 11 hours. Riders MUST wear helmets and must obey all Indiana traffic laws. This includes stopping at all stop signs and red lights. You must finish your ride by 9:00 pm (dark) to be an official finisher of RAIN. This is a maximum of a 14-hour ride. Rider numbers will be provided. |
