This year, the Maumee Area River Ride (MARR) will dedicate proceeds to the Northwestern Ohio Rails-to-Trails Association (NORTA). In the past few years, cycling of all types in NW Ohio has enjoyed an enthusiastic surge in participation. The NORTA supported trails in our area are well used and greatly appreciated by walkers, runners and cyclists alike. MARR is proud to demonstrate our support for future trail development and affirm the Toledo Area Bike Club's mission of promoting and enhancing safe bicycling in Northwestern Ohio.
Experience Northwest Ohio like never before! Ride our ALL NEW MARR! With miles of flat roads ahead, we know how you love to put your head down and just GO! So we've straightened out the routes and expanded the geographic area. With luck, you'll catch an awesome tailwind!
Revised routes will take cyclists on good roads along the scenic Maumee River, as well as inland for magnificent and expansive country views. Pedal through quaint small towns and beautiful parkland. SAG support along all routes, and rest stops offering tasty snacks. After the ride, relax with your friends while enjoying cold beer from Earnest Brew Works and a delicious lunch catered by City Barbecue.
GRAVEL OPTION We've added dirt to the ride!! Gravel riders will ride the tow path, following the remains of the Miami and Erie Canal. Ride past The Volunteer, a working replica of one of the old canal barges. Meet Molly and Sally, the mules who tow The Volunteer through the manually operated locks. And take a few minutes to explore the historic Isaac Ludwig Mill.
Gravel riders will share one riverside rest stop with road riders along the way and return for lunch via the South Fork of the Wabash Cannonball trail.
