PNC Tour de Lou

The Derby Festival’s annual cycling experience, the PNC Tour de Lou is a unique way to tour Louisville on two wheels and celebrates its 10th year in 2023.

The event has moved to a Sunday and cyclists will once again have the opportunity to ride through the home of the Kentucky Derby. In addition, the Metric Century course encompasses two states: Kentucky and Indiana.

Registration for the 2023 PNC Tour de Lou opens on Thursday, Oct. 20. In honor of the 10th annual ride, special discounted pricing will be available for 10 days for riders who register between Oct. 20-30 for any of the four ride offerings.

The separate cycling distances include:

  • 20 miles - Ideal for beginners or those new to cycling (Open course, no streets closed)
  • 35 miles - Ideal for moderate/experienced riders (Open course, no streets closed)
  • 62.1 miles (Metric Century) - Ideal for advanced riders or those looking for a challenge (Open course, no streets closed)
  • Family Adventure Ride - Returns for the second year with a twist. Head to the Waterfront for a casual two-mile looped course featuring a scavenger hunt. The Family Adventure Ride is recommended for ages 14 and younger. (All children riders must be accompanied by an adult chaperone).

Starting times are staggered based on distance: Metric Century - 8 a.m., 35-mile ride - 8:15 a.m., 20-mile ride - 8:30 a.m., Family Adventure Ride" 9:30 a.m.

A virtual alternative is also available for those who prefer to log their miles on their own. Riders who participate in the virtual option can still choose to complete the 20-, 35- or 62.1-mile distance. Participants can ride at their own pace and even their own route over multiple days.

All participants in the 2023 PNC Tour de Lou will receive a ride shirt, swag bag and an invitation to the post-ride party to celebrate.

Specific course and route details will be released in early 2023.
